Sport Business Samples

K-12 Participation in Athletics Policy Paper

This was a midterm exam paper focused on two current policy issues: homeschool participation in sports and how to address disabled sports in K-12 education. This was written in 90 minutes based on the prompts provided. This paper won second place in the Maloy Award for Excellence in Writing which is awarded to sport public policy papers.

MSBC Coordinator Onboarding Informative Report

This is an informative report designed to be used internally for MSBC. It is written in memo format and designed to be skimmed. It relied on research and undersanding of the topic at hand to provide advice.

Becoming Black Hawks Business Proposal

This is a long-form business report that was compiled by myself and three others. It involved extensive research as well as creative thinking to create a solution to solve the complex problem at hand. It also allowed me to incorporate my passion for social justice into sports.

Academic Writing Samples

Racism in the Adapatation of Bridgerton

Written for COMPLIT 323: Adapating World Literature

This paper was a semester-long project analyzing adaptation and how it changes the meaning of the work as a whole. I focused on how the addition of race to the TV series retroactively impacted the book series and acted as a continual conversation with both pieces of work. 

Colonilzation and the Annexation of Hawaii

Written for SOC 495: World Politics, International Relations and Law

This paper was accompanied by a 15-minute presentation. It was a case study on colonization and how the impacts can be felt today. Utilizing specific sociological frameworks the paper was designed to evaluate the different methods that influenced the specific historical context. 

Analysis of Women and Tragedy in Greek Plays

Written for CLCIV 101: Ancient Greek World

This paper was slightly edited for submission to Matt Kelley Prize for Excellence in First-Year Writing at the University of Michigan. This paper was not a response to any specific prompt, instead, the goal of this paper was to create a unique interpretation of two Greek plays. This combined close analytical reading of the text and creative thoughts to produce a distinct piece of academic writing with my own voice and ideas throughout.

Systematic Literature Review

Written for ENG 225: Academic Argumentation

This is a long form academic paper analyzing the current academic literature on a focused topic. It involved research of the specific genre of writing as well as research on the topic. The focus was on integrating over 20 academic sources as well as consulting topical experts.

Inside Out Psychological Analysis

Written for PYSCH 111: Introduction to Psychology

This is a paper written to follow specific scientific guidelines and incorporate scientific concepts into writing for a layperson. It also involves a complex understanding of the concepts at hand and how they can be viewed through the lens of a movie.

Macbeth Movie Analysis and Response

Written for English 267: World of Shakespeare

This paper was designed to compare between the text of Macbeth and the movie adaptation of the play. This involved close reading of both the text and movie as well as bringing the two pieces of work together and creating an intellectual conversation between the two.
